Their Selkirk Grace

Let’s raise a glass
of supermarket red wine
to the money
we can borrow and spend.
To the pennies and pounds
on our statements and screens,
that we’ll never lay hands or eyes on.

I know ‘some hae meat
and canna eat’,
and that ‘some would eat that want it…’
, but we can live how we want,
go wherever we choose;
and in the end, may never pay it back
before we die.
